For this week's show we have Master Watch and Clock Maker, Martin Braun, in the studio with us.
We're going to speak with him about the history of his watchmaking and how it is inexorably led him back to his roots as a clock maker.

We answer your email questions about a fast running antique pocket watch and what to do with a box full of marine chronometers...

This week's watch geek term is:  Declination.

Martin will take us through what 'declination' is and how he intends to indicate it on one of his next timepieces.  This involves showing both the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, as well as tracking both Equinox.  Cool, geeky stuff.

Speaking of cool, geeky stuff, check out our new logo -

Many thanks to the folks over at TRUF Creative for being the very best at what they do.  You're the bomb!

The WatchGeekTime.com Podcast is a conversation about heritage, history, and why we're all hooked on horology.  So sit back and relax, because for approximately 55 minutes and change, we're going to talk about everything from watches to... watches.

For this week's show, we are lucky to have one of the great watch collectors in studio, our good friend Mitch. His taste is impeccable and some of the pieces he shares are the epitome of beauty and rarity.

We had the opportunity to see some of the top examples from makers like Jaeger LeCoultre, Ulysse Nardin and Girard Perregaux, as well as some of the rarest pieces from Independents George Daniels, Roger Smith and Thomas Prescher.  Frankly speaking, it was a smorgasbord for the watch geek in all of us.

As always, we address your email questions about how Rolex polishes an oyster bracelet and why some bracelets have a matte finish, not to mention our personal pick between purchasing an IWC or a Panerai.

First and foremost, Happy New Year, Everyone.  As we bid good riddance to 2016, most of us are hopeful 2017 will bring more and take away less.  We sure lost a lot of good people last year.

This week's show will focus on Oris, one of Switzerland's most storied manufacturers.  As their slogan says, "Real Watches for Real People".

We also answer your email questions about what makes for a good watch that will be used in polar regions, as well as a short list of watches we like for less than three-thousand dollars.

The WatchGeekTime.com Podcast is a conversation about heritage, history, and why we're all hooked on horology.  So sit back and relax, because for approximately 51 minutes and 27 seconds, we are going to talk about everything from watches to... watches.
